Remembering Fallen Provo Master Officer Joseph Shinners

OREM, Utah – Funeral services will be held Saturday for fallen Provo Master Officer Joseph Shinners at 11 a.m. Services will be held at the UCCU Event Center at 800 W. University Parkway in Orem.
Shinners, 29, was shot last Saturday while trying to arrest a man in the parking lot of Bed Bath and Beyond near 50 W. University Parkway in Orem. Officers rushed him to the Utah Valley Hospital where he died from his injuries just before midnight, police said.
Shinners was originally from Boston, but lived in Springville, Utah, with his wife and 1-year-old son. He was a three-year veteran with the Provo Police Department and served with the SWAT team. He was also a field training officer and a member of the bicycle patrol.

The Provo Police Department is asking people to be prepared for multiple road closures throughout the morning.
