HENEFER, Utah – Officials with the Utah Highway Patrol said one man is in custody and another is still at-large after drugs and guns were located in a vehicle following a pursuit on Interstate 80 in Summit County.
Troopers said a citizen reported a blue Subaru was driving recklessly on westbound I-80 near milepost 176 Tuesday evening.
A trooper located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, but the vehicle fled and a pursuit was initiated.
The Subaru exited the freeway in Henefer and troopers terminated the pursuit.
“After circling the area shortly after, the vehicle was located abandoned,” UHP officials said. “A female passenger was picked up by a passerby. The female provided some info on outstanding male suspects.”
Troopers also said they found drugs and guns in the vehicle.
Deputies with the Summit County Sheriff’s Office responded with drones while a U.S. Forest Service K-9 was deployed to the area.
Troopers said one male was located near the Weber River after 2.5 hours of searching. The other male is still outstanding, according to UHP officials.
