Firefighters Save Cat From Garage Fire In West Valley

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah – Firefighters responded to a garage fire overnight in West Valley City – and crew members were able to save a cat from the blaze.
The incident shortly after midnight in the area of 3300 South and 5900 West.
Officials said there was a resident inside the home, and that person was able to get out safely. Inside the garage, firefighters found the cat, which they helped save with oxygen.
The cat is reportedly doing OK.
The garage and the vehicle inside are a total loss, authorities said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
