More Than 32K Vaccines Administered; 514 Utahns Test Positive For COVID

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah health officials on Wednesday reported 514 more residents have tested positive for COVID-19, and four additional people have died.

All four of the pandemic victims died before March 1, according to the Utah Department of Health.

There are currently 135 people hospitalized with the virus.

Utah administered 32,341 more vaccines.

Testing

UDOH reports 2,386,988 people have been tested – 6,751 more than yesterday.

Of those, a total of 385,641 have tested positive for COVID-19, which is an increase of 514 new cases over Tuesday’s numbers.

The rolling 7-day average for positive tests is 418 per day.

The rolling 7-day average for percent positivity of “people over people” is 6.7%. The rolling 7-day average for percent positivity of “tests over tests” is 3.3%.

Hospitalizations

There are 135 people currently hospitalized with COVID-19, and 56 of those people are in intensive care units.

Utah’s ICUs are 62.9% full. The ICU beds in the state’s referral centers are 64.9% full.

Deaths

Four more Utahns have lost their lives as a direct result of COVID-19. Health officials said the four people died before March 1.

To date, the virus has killed 2,122 of the state’s residents.

The following individuals’ deaths were reported Wednesday:

  • Male, between 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, not hospitalized
  • Male, between 45-64, Weber County resident, not hospitalized
  • Male, between 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, not hospitalized
  • Male, between 45-64, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized

Vaccinations

The state has administered 1,364,203 total vaccines, which is an increase of 32,341 since Tuesday’s data was released.

So far, 899,952 people have received at least one dose, and 499,419 Utahns have been full immunized.

There have been 1,597,120 vaccines delivered to the state.
