West Jordan Crash Injures Teen, Kills 12-Year-Old

WEST JORDAN, Utah – A two-car crash at 9000 S Mountain View Corridor killed one and injured two others involved, according to authorities.
West Jordan Police Detective Scott List confirmed the crash happened shortly after noon on Friday.
List said a 16-year-old male was driving a full-sized pickup truck, heading east, with the driver’s 12-year-old brother as a passenger. The truck collided with a lawncare truck heading north and the 12-year-old died on impact.
Police identified the victim Saturday morning as Miles Moffat and offered condolences to the family.
The West Jordan Police Department wishes to express our condolences to the family of Miles Moffat. Miles succumbed to injuries sustained in a collision at the intersection of 9000 South Mountain view Corridor.

Police said the 16-year-old driver was taken to Intermountain Medical Center in critical condition and the adult driver of the other truck was taken to Jordan Valley Hospital in stable condition.
Investigators have spoken with witness and are working to determine who may have run a red light or otherwise be at fault.
Police said there was no video of the crash.
