Animal control was called out to remove some dogs to avoid contaminating evidence at the house.
Four nearby schools were put on a very brief lockout Monday morning as a precaution.
One neighbor said there have been problems with noise and police callouts at the home before.
For now, investigators are not releasing a lot of information about what happened or the people involved.
“We do have some video evidence and that, so we do have a sense of what occurred, however, due to this being such an early stage in investigation, I’m not able to go into a lot of details right now,” said Deputy Chief Rich Bell with the West Jordan Police Department.
According to the Jordan School District, the teen suspect was only enrolled there for a brief time, adding that he’s not currently enrolled as a student.
Teachers and staff that would have known him have been notified.
Police said they’re going to follow through on several leads before releasing any more information on what happened.
