Lighting Trends 2022 | 5 Beautiful Home Lighting Trends You Can Expect to See this Year and Beyond

This year is showing that many things in the lighting world are changing, even if they are subtle changes. Do you want to know the latest popular lighting features and lighting fixtures? This is where you can see the latest lighting trends for 2022 straight from the Lightovation Show at the Dallas World Trade Center.
Black Finish

Black finishes have now replaced bronze as the dominating finish in the lighting world. For many years bronze finishes were the go-to finish for lighting fixtures due to their neutral nature. But people are looking to make a statement, and black is more than enough to make a big statement. If a light fixture didn’t come in black last year, it almost certainly will this year.
White Glass

White glass is also known as “milk glass”. For sure you will see this on all sorts of new light fixtures this year. While clear glass used to be the most common glass you would see on lighting fixtures, white glass is starting to take over. The white glass will add a flare to any room. And the nice diffusion means you won’t have nearly concentrated bright light coming from that lighting fixture either.
Pleated Shades

When you think of pleated shades you’re probably immediately transported back to the late ’80s and early ’90s when pleated lamp shades were everywhere. Well, pleated shades have made a comeback in a big way. And many of the lamps released this year come with a modernized pleated shade. Whether this is a passing fad or a trend that will turn back into standard style is still up for interpretation. But only time will tell.
Globe Shades

Thanks to mid-century modern trends, glass globe shades surrounding light bulbs have slowly been making their re-emergence. Chandeliers, pendants, and flush mounts this year are starting to include globe shades as part of the aesthetic. With vintage looks coming back, it’s no surprise these globe shades are making the rounds. Combined with the white glass trends, this should lead to some great looks going forward.
Lighting Trends in 2022 Mean Clustered Lights

Is one light not enough for your space? Not to fear! Clustered lights are likely to make your must-have list! Not only will you have plenty of good light with cluster lights, but they also look great with a beautiful chandelier-pendant look that can be an accent in any room. Cluster lights take advantage of multiple lights to not only provide plenty of light, but also a modern and beautiful aesthetic for any space.
