Troopers respond to 114 crashes, 169 motorist assists across Utah

SALT LAKE CITY — Troopers with the Utah Highway Patrol responded to 114 crashes and helped 169 motorists get off the roadways Sunday as a winter storm moved in across the state.
As of 11:30 a.m., troopers had already handled 100 crashes and over 100 public assists statewide.

While traveling across the state Sunday, UHP officials said they noticed several abandoned vehicles left on the shoulders.
“With more snow to come, please do not leave vehicles,” read the agency’s tweet.
The social post went on to say, “Snow plows have a very difficult time getting around abandoned vehicles and in some cases can’t plow the area.”
