SALT LAKE CITY — Millions of Americans are planning to travel this Independence Day weekend despite record-high gas prices.
Many are wondering, how much will that road trip cost?
We used Triple-A’s Gas Cost Calculator to figure that out.
It’s an easy process.
We put the starting point at Salt Lake City and let’s say you’re headed down to Zion or Bryce.

Once you enter that information you plug in information about your vehicle, let’s say a 2015 Honda CRV, an SUV that gets about 32 Miles per gallon.
Driving down there will cost you almost 50 bucks in gas meaning a round trip is nearly 100 bucks.
Don’t forget to consider traffic and the trip can end up costing you even more.
You’ll also want to check your route on UDOT’s website to make sure there are not any unexpected closures or construction work going on that could also slow you down even more.
