Man arrested in connection to Draper homicide

DRAPER, Utah — A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection to the murder of 33-year-old Remey Rowland in Draper.

Officials with the Draper Police Department said Alexis Marquez was found at his apartment in the city Wednesday and booked into the Salt Lake County Adult Detention Center.

Police said during the course of the investigation, Marquez was identified as a person of interest in the case, adding that he was already a wanted fugitive for charges in Draper and Sandy.

“The circumstances leading up to the shooting are still under investigation. Evidence of an illegal drug transaction was found in the victim’s vehicle,” read a Thursday morning press release from Draper police.
