Man dies after 200-foot fall at Grand Canyon

GRAND CANYON, Ariz. — Rangers at Grand Canyon National Park recovered the body of a hiker who fell 200 feet to his death from a trail on the north rim of the park.
The 44-year-old man fell at approximately 3:30 Friday afternoon.
It happened west of the Bright Angel Point Trail.
Rangers said the man was off the trail when he accidentally fell.
The National Park Service and the Coconino County Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating the accident.
Rangers reminded people to stay on designated trails and walkways and always keep a safe distance of at least six feet from the edge of the rim.
