MILLCREEK, Utah — A Unified police officer who was monitoring traffic in a school zone stopped a motorcyclist going at least 100 mph Monday morning.
It happened at Highland Drive and Siggard Drive at approximately 8:22 according to Unified Police Sgt. Melody Cutler.
The officer stopped the motorcyclist at 1300 East. Cutler said as the officer approached the motorcyclist, he tried to speed away but he ended up hitting a tire on the patrol unit and the bike fell over.
He tried to run but the police caught him near 1430 East Cutler said. Police arrested 44-year-old James Joshua Crabtree who was suspected of drug possession.
Crabtree was arrested on charges of possession, reckless driving, failure to stop, and fleeing. Cutler said the charges could be enhanced because the speeding happened in a school zone.
