Investigation Providing Few Answers In Kearns Woman’s Disappearance

KEARNS, Utah – It has been 96 hours since 25-year-old Consuelo “Nicole” Solorio-Romero was allegedly abducted in Kearns, and detectives are still piecing together information from the incident.

However, they believe there are several witnesses out there that could have the missing link.

“It just gave me such bad anxiety,” neighbor Cassie Pursell said.

At all times of the day, Pursell said cars are coming and going along 5400 West.

“We were in our living room, probably right there when it happened,” she said, pointing to a window at the front of her home.

But traffic isn’t what’s keeping her young family awake at night.

“Not even just in my neighborhood but in my front yard,” she said. “You know, it’s just really uncomfortable.”

Police said Solorio-Romero was kidnapped just steps from Pursell’s front door on Saturday and forced into a green 2010 Toyota Camry by two men.

“This is the middle of the afternoon on 5400 South — somebody saw something,” said Sgt. Melody Cutler with the Unified Police Department. “And that’s why I say you may not realize that what you saw was important, but it could’ve been. We see it from the video — people were driving by when this was happening, so you did see something.”

Surveillance footage shows cars driving past the kidnapping, and police are hoping to track down those people and neighbors who may have seen something. They’re also requesting anyone with surveillance cameras in the area to check their logs.

“They hold that little piece of the puzzle that can really help us,” Cutler said. “Please don’t think that what you know is too small or unimportant.”

Police suspect Solorio-Romero was driven to a second location, where she was harmed.

“They did find very specific evidence that says she was shot and that she is seriously injured,” Cutler said.

The address of the second residence remains under lock and key as police are releasing very limited information on its location. However, they confirmed it is in Salt Lake County.

Cutler said the white truck was not necessarily spotted in the area where Solorio-Romero was kidnapped, but they believe the suspects are driving it.

The truck was last seen pulling a flatbed trailer with landscape equipment and a lot of trash. But it didn’t have a company sign or logo on it.

Anyone with information was urged to contact Unified Police.

“Everyone was home around us. We were all here. We all could’ve done something and then there were cars driving by, and nothing, nobody stopped nobody questioned it. That was, that’s what got me, is that it’s just crazy, it’s sickening,” Pursell said, adding that if she had seen something she would have run out to help.
