Sisters Hold Out Hope Missing Kearns Woman Is Still Alive

KEARNS, Utah – With the odds against them, a missing Kearns woman’s family refuses to give up hope of finding her alive. It has been nearly a week since 25-year-old Nicole Solorio-Romero was kidnapped from her home.

Today, Nicole’s older sister flew into Utah from Chicago to follow the investigation.

Nicole Solorio Romero’s sister, Jessica, was heading into a meeting with detectives. She learned there may be a 3rd suspect involved in the kidnapping.

Jessica Romero McDonald said Nicole made two calls to their youngest sister Juliana as she was being kidnapped from her home on 5400 South in Kearns. In the first call, Nicole told Juliana that there were 3 men. So far we’ve only heard of two suspects caught on surveillance footage. The next call came after the sisters called 911. They said Nicole didn’t sound like herself, and begged them not to call police. After that, the phone went silent, despite multiple attempts by Juliana to reach Nicole.

“She was crying, she was shaking, I could just feel the fear within her, just by the voice alone. Her voice was shaking, she was crying and she just told me you know, I can’t find her, I can’t get ahold of her… all of a sudden her phone was off after this phone call,” said Jessica Romero- McDonald. “I knew in my heart that something was wrong with her.”

Police suspect Nicole Solorio-Romero was shot shortly after being forced into a green Toyota Camry by the two men caught in surveillance footage. She was taken to a second location where police found evidence to indicate she was badly injured. Police tell us they’re not giving up. They have some very strong leads from viewers. Meantime, they are providing clarification on the specifics of the truck they’re looking for. They’ve gotten a lot of calls about different colored trucks, but their focus is a white truck.

“The truck is a newer model Ford pick up truck it is white there is no writing on the truck at all, so there’s not a landscape company or anything like that written on the sides of the truck, no logos anything of the sort,” Sgt. Melody Cutler of Unified Police Department said.

The family is planning on canvassing and posting flyers in the neighborhood where Nicole was kidnapped. It’s a few hundred feet from the basement apartment she shared with Juliana.

Anyone with information about the suspects or vehicles used, a White Ford Truck or 2010 Toyota Camry is asked to call police at 801-743-7000.
