CLINTON, Utah – Police in Davis County are on the lookout for a man who smashed several car windows and stole purses from inside.

It only takes a second for him to break in and get away.

Cheir Seaich set up multiple cameras on her Tesla just for something like this.

Kaysville police released the video from those cameras and are now asking for help in finding the suspect.

The video showed what appears to be two people who coordinated their approach as they moved quickly through a parking lot.

The man casually paced the parking lot to make sure no one was looking. Then he used some sort of tool to shatter the glass.

Within 20 seconds he broke the window and took off with a purse in hand.

“I was so angry and so disappointed,” Seaich said.

At first, she did not realize what happened Monday morning outside the VASA gym until her sister-in-law grabbed her attention.

“I’m like ‘what?’ and I turned and looked and I’m like, ‘Ohhh, he tried to get my car too!’ Because that’s when I saw the break in it,” she said.

The thief left a big mark, but apparently, the Tesla’s windows are pretty tough. The video showed the guy try several times to break the glass, but no luck. Good thing for Seaich, who left her purse in the car.

“Oh, I so learned that lesson. Bad on my part, really bad,” she said.

Police said the man burglarized three vehicles in the parking lot and the video showed what appears to be the second person helping. A woman pulled right up to Seach’s car and leaned in to see what was inside.

“It was so sad that somebody had to just, you know, just be ruthless to steal someone else’s stuff,” she said.

Seaich’s husband and police put the video out on the internet as a warning to the burglars before they’re tempted to do it again.

Officer Lexi Benson with the Kaysville Police Department said, “If you do have valuables that you can’t lock up, put them in your truck so that people can’t see them.”

Detectives believe the same pair hit gym parking lots in Clearfield and Syracuse too.
