One dead another seriously injured in separate SLC crashes

SALT LAKE CITY — Police say two Tuesday night crashes left one person dead and another with life-threatening injuries.
Officials with the Salt Lake City Police Department said the first crash happened at 9:15 p.m. at 1440 S. Main Street.
That crash involved a car and motorcycle; the male motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries.

The second crash happened about 30 minutes later at the intersection of 300 South and 700 East when a car struck a man who was riding a skateboard.
The skateboarder was taken to an area hospital where he died of his injuries.
The SLCPD’s Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team is investigating both collisions. Police said they would provide an update Wednesday morning.
