WASATCH COUNTY, Utah — Two people are dead after a four-car collision Tuesday afternoon near Wallsburg.
The crash closed U.S. Highway 189 at milepost 21, creating traffic delays. The highway, which connects Provo with the Heber City area, serves as the main access point to Wallsburg.
Utah Highway Patrol said a Lucid Air EV was traveling southbound at a high rate of speed when it crossed over into the northbound lanes of traffic and hit a Yukon head-on. The Lucid Air went under the Yukon, sending it airborne and rolling. The Lucid Air then burst into flames.
The drivers of both of those vehicles were pronounced dead at the scene.
