FILLMORE, Utah — Gov. Spencer Cox led a ceremony at the Utah Territorial State House in Fillmore Tuesday, honoring the first responders who jumped into action and saved lives at the scene of the horrific July 25 crash on Interstate 15 in Millard County.
It was a horrific scene for everyone involved, including the first responders.
Cox acknowledged the heroism of those who responded that day and passed on the appreciation of millions of Utahns.
“Though we couldn’t save every life on July 25, we were all there to do the best we could. It was heartbreaking. It changed us all. We are proud to wear the uniform with you. Thank you for being our heroes,” read a tweet from the Utah Highway Patrol.
